In 1927, Commander Eugene F. McDonald gave the company a creed it has never let go of: "The quality goes in before the name goes on." It wasn't marketing. It was a manufacturing order.

That belief drove Zenith to keep building in America long after others moved on, and to keep inventing — the portable radio, the wireless remote, FM stereo, digital television — rather than just keeping up.

1999 · A global partner

The bolt joins LG Electronics

Zenith's digital-HDTV expertise needed global scale to match its ambition. In 1999 Zenith became a wholly owned subsidiary of LG Electronics — and the Zenith R&D Lab in Lincolnshire, Illinois became LG's U.S. research subsidiary for consumer electronics, hospitality, healthcare, and broadcast standards.

It was the start of a new century of firsts: the Pro:Idiom encryption standard for hospitality (2004), the core technology inside NextGen TV (ATSC 3.0), and AI-driven platforms like Pro:Centric+ — all carrying a century-old promise into tomorrow.
